MY PMA STORY...
As a kid I grew up on mostly hip hop, the hustle & the struggle spoke to me & the world I grew up in. But my brother from another @goodguybri became #straightedge in our early teens (still is today).
Brian introduced me to bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat, & H2O. It was through these bands, H2O’s @tobymorse specifically, that I became aware of PMA “Positive Mental Attitude”. PMA is an acronym that inspired the hardcore music scene through a band called Bad Brains. In 1982 #BadBrains released the song “Attitude” with “hey, hey, we got that PMA” in the chorus. This song was inspired directly from a book written in 1937 by Napoleon Hill called “Think and Grow Rich” where Hill promoted the idea of success through a positive mental attitude.
I am fortunate enough to be close friends with Toby Morse who besides swapping PMA tattoos with him in NY almost a decade ago, (video on you tube) has personally inspired & influenced me to continue to use #PMA as a daily guide.
