Category 5e (Cat5e / Cat5 enhanced) is a 350MHz rated cable that is designed to handle network speeds up to 1000mbps. This cable uses 24AWG conductor made from bare, solid copper that are twisted into pairs that is then covered with an overall shield to prevent interference and reduce cross talk in environments that contain excessive EMI/RFI interference. . The PVC jacket is CMR riser rated, meaning that it is designed to prevent the spread of fire in commercial risers between floors. This cable is UTP (unshielded twisted pair) and uses standard Cat5e rated RJ45 plugs, 110 blocks, or patch panels for termination.
